At Northfield St. Nicholas Primary Academy (NSPA) we believe that the Music curriculum provides every child, regardless of ability, with a breadth of learning and creative experience that encourages them to express themselves musically with growing confidence both individually and collectively. At the core of this is ASUPERHERO (aspiration, sensory, unforgettable, progress, exciting, relevant, hope, emotional literacy, reading and opportunity). The music curriculum at NSPA is designed to give children opportunities to create their own music through song and instrumental playing, develop their listening skills and study the work of other composers in line with the National Curriculum.

ASUPERHERO Music

The Year 4 children had a fantastic day learning all about Andrew Lloyd Webber.

We focused our learning on the Musical ‘Joseph and the amazing technicolour dream coat’. During the day, we listened to Webber’s music and created dance routines, re-told the story of Joseph, re-created the music from Joseph using instruments and learnt to sing ‘Any Dream Will Do’.
